Insurance & Financing Options at KeenEye Family Vision
Navigating eye care benefits can sometimes feel overwhelming. At KeenEye Family Vision, we try to make the process as smooth as possible. We work with a wide range of vision insurance, health insurance, and flexible financing providers to help you get the care you need.
Vision Insurance Plans We Accept
Vision insurance typically covers routine eye exams, prescription eyeglasses, and contact lenses. We accept the following primary vision providers:
- VSP (Vision Service Plan)
- EyeMed
Medical Health Insurance Plans We Accept
If you are visiting us for a medical eye issue (such as dry eye, eye injuries, glaucoma, or diabetic eye exams), these visits are typically billed through your health insurance provider. We are in-network with these primary health insurance plans:
- Select Health
- Aetna
- PEHP (Public Employees Health Program)
- EMI Health
We also accept a variety of other major medical health plans, including:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (including Regence)
- UnitedHealthcare / UMR
- Medicare
- Motive Health
- DMBA (Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators)
- Humana
- Cigna
Flexible Financing & Alternative Payments
Your eye health shouldn’t have to wait. If you are paying out-of-pocket, have a high deductible, or are purchasing premium eyewear, we offer convenient healthcare financing.
CareCredit® Healthcare Credit Card
We accept CareCredit, which allows you to pay for your family’s vision care over time with convenient monthly promotional financing options. It can be used for out-of-pocket costs like:
- Co-pays and deductibles
- Designer frames and specialty lenses
- Contact lenses
We also accept cash, major credit cards, and flexible spending accounts (FSA/HSA).
Important Note Regarding Insurance Coverage & Verification
Please call your insurance provider to verify your specific policy coverage prior to booking your appointment.
While KeenEye Family Vision is an in-network provider with the networks listed above, insurance carriers offer hundreds of unique employer sub-plans and individual policies. Being in-network with a provider does not automatically guarantee we are in-network with your specific policy plan.
Our team is always happy to assist you and will do our very best to help look up your details. However, because your insurance policy is a private contract between you and your carrier, ultimate responsibility for verifying specific plan coverage rests with the patient.
If you have questions about how to check your benefits, give our office a call and we’ll gladly guide you through what questions to ask your insurer!
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KeenEye Family Vision take AARP insurance?
No, we do not accept AARP vision or health insurance plans at this time. Please check our accepted medical insurance list or ask about CareCredit financing options.
What is the difference between vision insurance and medical insurance for eye exams?
Vision insurance (like VSP and EyeMed) covers routine care, tracking your prescription changes, and hardware like glasses or contacts. Medical health insurance (like Blue Cross Blue Shield or Aetna) is used if you are being evaluated or treated for a medical eye condition, such as chronic dry eye, allergies, infection, or cataracts.
Can I use an HSA or FSA for eye glasses and exams?
Yes! You can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds to cover eye exams, prescription glasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses.
